The Gillingham Building

The project involved the conversion and refurbishment of an existing building on the Medway Campus of the University of Kent.

The scheme provides a university canteen, kitchen and toilet facilities at ground-floor level, alongside meeting rooms and offices on the first floor. The facility supports two nearby teaching buildings.

The site lies within the Pembroke Conservation Area, a potential World Heritage Site. It also forms part of the former Royal Naval Dockyard, Barracks and Gunnery School.
