Winchester University

A student residential development comprising 490 study bedrooms, alongside a gymnasium, café and laundry facilities on a steeply sloping site.

The design works with the existing topography, using existing terraces to form a strong linear route that terminates in a central square. These shared spaces encourage interaction and create a sense of community within the development.

Eight-person cluster flats occupy paired pavilions along the street, encouraging social interaction and community. The scale and massing respond to the surrounding urban grain and density.
