We have Moved Offices!

We are excited to announce our move to our new premises in the heart of Farringdon!

Still only a stone’s throw away from Chancery Lane but now even closer to Farringdon Station, our new office is situated on the second floor of 27 Greville street. With changes to the way we have worked over the past few years, we are thrilled to have found a space that matches our current and future ambitions.

We look forward to having you here soon!

Staff Shuffleboarding Night Out

Our most recent staff night out involved a test of coordination and composure as the team took to shuffleboarding at London Bridge’s Electric Shuffle.

Competitive spirits came out in full swing as we battled it out to win points for our teams. It was a tight game up until the end but ultimately there were a few dark horses that stayed cool calm and collected to sweep up the win.

There was a lot to discuss afterwards, including a screen malfunction that some say, ‘rigged the scoreboard’, as we finished the evening with drinks in the sun at the Vinegar Yard.

Planning Received for 16 Unit Scheme in Aston Clinton

Following the previously granted Outline Consent to redevelop this site off the A41 near Aylesbury, Chancerygate have secured Town Planning permission to build a 16 unit industrial scheme to provide approx. 15,307sm of employment floorspace.

One of the leading focuses for our proposals is the site’s relationship to the Chiltern Hills, as well as similar developments in the vicinity. For example, cladding tones were selected from a palette of earthy shades to encourage the buildings to camouflage with their surroundings and complement the neighbouring buildings. Retaining large amounts of landscaping and a green buffer to the boundary were also key motivators in the arrangement of the scheme. Four blocks of units of varying sizes face into the site at Vantage 41, creating a sense of community but also reducing potential light pollution outside the development. The range of unit sizes allow for flexibility and the opportunity for businesses to grow within the estate.

17 Unit Development Progressing on Site in Coventry

The approved plans for new commercial infrastructure in Coventry are rapidly coming into fruition. The brownfield plot is part of a larger comprehensive redevelopment that replaces the existing out-dated factory buildings, with a new dedicated employment area being delivered by Chancerygate and 499 new dwellings, over two plots, by Persimmon Homes & Taylor Wimpey.

The masterplan aims to open up the site to public use, provide new open space and landscaping, whilst retaining the existing sports pitches and social club facilities.

Our design for the new employment units creates opportunities for a range of business sizes, within Use Classes B1 & B8, that require high quality and adaptable spaces. The external colour palette is simple yet effective, representing the identity of the client, Chancerygate.

Phase 1 steelwork for all units has now been erected, with cladding and hard-standing works in progress. We’re looking forward to seeing the finished scheme!

New Industrial Unit in Basingstoke Starts on Site

The erection of steelwork for a new business unit has commenced on this site off Bilton Road in Basingstoke. The unit being developed by Legal & General Assurance (pensions management) Ltd will provide modern facilities and employment opportunities to the local area.

Elevational treatment, building scale and landscaping design have all been carefully considered in the proposals that were approved by the local authority last June.

Three New Units Approved in Watford

Plans for the redevelopment of an existing industrial site have been approved by Watford Borough Council. The consent grants the demolition of existing buildings and the provision of three new units, totalling 8,215sm (GEA) of flexible employment floorspace.

The scheme sets out to revive and renew the site, providing a contemporary high spec development that comprises a timeless colour palette, a combination of materials/ transparencies and a complimentary landscape design.

Cornish Architects have been working closely with the client, LaSalle Investment Management and project manager, Bourne Wood Partnership Ltd, to achieve a proposal that suits the demand of the current market as well as reflecting their aspirations, particularly in terms of sustainability.

Office Sailing Day to the Isle of Wight

Although we thoroughly enjoyed being locked in a ‘virtual’ escape room for our Christmas extravaganza this year (thanks Macmillan), it did make us miss our Cornish office outings.

Last year we turned our “out of office” on to venture across the Solent, sailing from Gosport to the Isle of Wight. We were extremely lucky with the weather & each had a turn pulling ropes and at the helm – some adopting the role better than others.

(Un)Fortunately there are no exciting tales of capsizing or overboard casualties, although we did test our fear gauge on a surprise ‘Rib Ride Adventure’ on the choppy British waters.

The day ended high and dry with some pub grub and drinks to help settle any ongoing sea sickness.
