Walker Logistics Dakota Building

Walker Logistics is a family-owned UK and European logistics provider based in Berkshire. The project responds to the growth of existing and new clients, delivering a new 135,000 sqft warehouse with ancillary office space and an aircraft museum, alongside access, servicing, parking and landscaping.

The design responds to both operational requirements and site constraints. A key consideration was accommodating the movement and occasional display of a Dakota aircraft within the museum, which informed the layout and servicing strategy.

Wrap-around offices are positioned along the southern elevation. Ribbon windows establish a regular façade rhythm and allow flexible internal layouts, while external brise soleil reduce solar gain.

A fully glazed corner marks the main entrance, framed by an overhanging canopy that provides shelter and defines the arrival point. This approach continues at the museum entrance to the north.
