Planning Consent Granted for Two Storey Commercial Laundry

Cornish Architects has been commissioned to design a new commercial laundry facility serving 5 star central London hotels.

The design concept sets a white metal clad cube on a grey masonry plinth with the entrance signalled by 100sm of feature wall comprising 3-Dimensional metal rainscreen and a glazed corner.

The proposal will provide 2 levels of production area to accommodate the latest innovative eco technology in laundry equipment, alongside 2 floors of accommodation creating space for staff facilities and offices, with further levels for dry cleaning processes and plant rooms above. The operation is targeted to become the first commercial laundry in the UK to have an all-electric fleet for which the design will include suitable vehicle charging facilities.

The proposal for approx. 4,800sm GEA of floor area has now been approved by Watford Borough Council.

Collaborating with equipment specialists and key consultants from an early stage has allowed for the scheme to develop into a coherent, efficient proposal that accommodates the specific needs of the client.
