Rebecca Phythian

BA (Hons) Dip Arch ARB RIBA

Director

Rebecca began her architectural career working for the public sector where she completed projects for West Mercia Police and gained experience in specialist building typologies. Her interest in travel and humanitarian architecture lead to involvement in the design of a large-scale healthcare project in Pakistan. She also has a keen interest in graphic design, 3D printing and new design software. Rebecca has taught various CAD programs to beginner students.

During her time at the Practice, Rebecca has worked in a variety of sectors including mixed-use schemes, industrial, commercial and residential interiors. She has been instrumental in the introduction of BIM to Cornish Architects’ live projects and has been able to use her skills in graphics to enhance the marketing capabilities of the practice.

Keen to continue the legacy of Cecil Cornish into the next generation, Rebecca became an equity director in January 2023, along with Simon Mascarenhas. She is excited to take the Practice forward, led by the influences of the directors before her whilst embracing modern ideas and encouraging forward-thinking.

Outside of work, Rebecca has a love for music festivals and scuba diving. She has also achieved a foundation degree in Spanish, which comes in handy as she has a thirst for travel.
